About Mobile Suit Gundam Battlefield Record: Avant-Title

The story begins at the Battle of A Baoa Qu, in the last days of the One Year War. As the Federation and Zeon forces clash in the final climactic battle, two men struggle to survive.

On the Federation side, pilot Hugues Courand moves through the fierce fighting to swiftly take out a MS-09R Rick Dom and a MS-14C Gelgoog Cannon with his RGM-79GS GM Command Space Type. However, he runs out of beam energy and is forced to retreat back to a nearby Salamis-class cruiser being resupplied by a team of Columbus transports. While his GM Command is being resupplied, a team of three MA-05 Bigro units attacks the group, eliminating the transports and the cruisers. Though Hugues manages to shoot down one of the Bigros, the explosion from the Salamis disables his GM Command as he witnesses the aftermath of his whole squad's destruction.

On the surface of A Baoa Qu, ace pilot Erik Blanke rallies the Invisible Knights despite the fierce fighting on N Field. As Blanke's troops is reassigned to defend S Field, he witnesses the MSN-02 Zeong in action and is impressed with its power despite its odd shape. Blanke shoots down an oncoming GM before being attacked by a RX-77-2 Guncannon. To make matters worse, he encounters the RX-78-2 Gundam, which easily takes out his MS-14A Gelgoog 's shield. The Gundam lines up its next shot but it is taken by Blanke's teammate Christo. The Gundam then retreats to duel the Zeong on A Baoa Qu's surface. Retreating to a nearby Dolos carrier, Blanke retrieves Christo's Zaku II and swears revenge on the Federation.
